Welcome to the Peek-A-Boo Optometry FAQ!
We know visiting the eye doctor can come with lots of questions—especially for little eyes seeing big things! Whether you're curious about what happens during an eye exam, how to choose the right glasses, or what to expect at your first visit, we’re here to help. Take a look through our most commonly asked questions, and if you need more info, just reach out—we’re happy to help!
1
Where are you located?
Our offices are conveniently located within Walmart (Town Drive) and Sam’s Club (Calvary Drive). As we operate independently of these businesses, you can enter our office through a dedicated entrance.
2
What can I expect during my first visit to Peek-a-Boo Optometry?
For all first-time patients, we provide a complete eye exam, unless your existing eye doctor has referred you for a specialized evaluation or if you're facing an eye emergency.
When you come in for your complete eye exam, a team member will collect your exam fee and then guide you through a pre-testing process. Our doctor will carefully review the paperwork you filled out before your visit and assess whether you might need glasses or contact lenses.
Based on the dilated retinal exam results, the doctor will suggest any specific follow-up needed. If, for any reason, you can't be dilated during your visit, please feel free to reschedule for a time when it's more convenient for you. Dilation for first-time patients is part of our standard care and is really helpful in ensuring we can rule out any unnecessary follow-up visits.

How do I prepare my child for their first eye exam?
Maintain cheerful and uplifting language. Our goal is to prevent any negative associations with the eye visit. Dr. Wiggins will ensure the experience is enjoyable and interactive for your child.
If your child is hesitant about a procedure or test, it's best not to scold them. Instead, Dr. Wiggins will help redirect their focus to achieve the desired outcomes. Have confidence in the process.

Why isn’t Peek-a-Boo Optometry in-network with any insurance plans?
Insurance can certainly play a role in covering costs for some, but it may also limit your care options. It's most important for you and your doctor to decide what’s best for your health, rather than a third party who doesn't know you personally.
We've adjusted our pricing to be more accessible than typical insured rates. If you would like to file your visit as an “Out-of-Network” service, we would be delighted to provide you with the necessary procedure codes.
Additionally, we offer concierge plans for those who may need extra services to cater to their needs.
5
What is concierge eye care?
Concierge eye care offers a personalized vision care experience through an annual fee, providing enhanced services. This model typically includes benefits such as longer appointment durations, direct access to the eye doctor, and a broader selection of products and services.
The main goal is to foster a lasting relationship between the patient and the eye doctor, surpassing traditional insurance-dependent care.
